Biografie

A band from Groningen (NL) with electrifying contemporary rock songs, soulful ballads and energetic performances laced with humour and fun!

Stepping Stone base their music on early 70-ties hardrock, brought to you as modern day rock and flavoured with elektronic details. The vast catalogue of Stepping Stone's original songs has been built-up during the past 20 years. Besides several demo's, 2 albums have been recorded: I'll be back tomorrow (1998) and the brand new album Look Inside!.

Stepping Stone consists of 4 quite different people, Allard Oterdoom, Andy Dietrich, Clemens Tersteeg and Jan Gjaltema are all young at heart, middle aged teenagers, each with a passion for making music. Influences from far and wide have created a broad musical knowledge and together with their own quintessential personality they form this powerful rock ensemble.

Allard

Allard Oterdoom is the creative brain of the band. He is the main song writer, many of the songs flowing from his pen. Sometimes all he needs is a couple of notes and away he goes. A little bit chaotic for the rest of the band but we forgive him when he comes up with something really special. Jan and Allard are the bands singers and are equal to many world famous singing duos.

Jan

Jan Gjaltema, apart from keeping the rhythm with his powerful drumming style is the man that wants to make sure everything is as it should be, right down to the last detail. Time has no meaning when presented by a technical challenge, which happens quite regularly because anything new gadgets or toys are irresistible for him. He also contributes song material for Stepping Stone, sometimes in the form of a complete song or in ideas to compliment Allard's creations.

Clemens

Clemens Tersteeg is the rhythm guitarist from this dynamic rock band. He is the Joker of the pack and has in the past caused many a raised eyebrow with his antics but underneath the jovial exterior is a seriously musician. Many of the notable riffs in Stepping Stone's songs have been introduced by Clemens, and have helped make them classics.

Andy

Andy Dietrich, like many other bass players before him are quiet, serious and only interested in creating the perfect bass line for Stepping Stones numbers. Although not a prolific song writer he has contributed ideas and concepts, which have been enthusiastically accepted by Stepping Stone since his involvement.
